Engineering Protection for the Imeretinskaya Lowland Area

Engineering protection is required in the Imeretinskaya Lowland in order to build large Olympic venues, including the Olympic Village and hotel complexes, in an area prone to natural inundation.

It involves marsh drainage and reclamation and the creation and development of lakes, dredging these lakes, effluent disposal, organizing a storm-water run-off system, building sewage wells and bringing engineering networks and communications up to the future buildings on the lowland territory; and planning, including the construction of intra-site roads.

The project is being carried out with help from scientists and monitoring in view of the complex geological foundations, soil and ground water.

CJSC Inzhtransstroy is General Contractor. The project is being carried out for the Olympstroy State Corporation.

Construction of the Kurortny Prospekt Relief Road

The Kurortny Prospekt Relief Road is a highly complex road construction project being carried out in the cramped conditions of a densely populated city affected by traffic congestion.

This dual carriageway (first section) starts at the M27 Dzhugba – Sochi highway at the River Agura and ends at Zemlyanichnaya Ulitsa (Street) and is 5.67 km long. It will include three tunnels 2.4 km long overall, four bridges and flyovers (more than 2.7 km), two intersections and landslide protection.

Project plans include building a 138-meter flyover.

Upgrading the By-road from the Intersection at the Stadion Sports Complex to the Bridge over the River Sochi at the Krasnodar Ring

Upgrading the by-road from the intersection at the Stadion sports complex to the bridge over the River Sochi at the Krasnodar Ring involves widening the road to 15 meters (four lanes) and building 3,228 meters of supporting walls. The overall asphalt-concrete paved surface is 93,738 m2.
